Cases pertaining to fire in automobiles are not all that uncommon and this is yet another example of it.
September 23, 2023: Tata Motors has issued an official statement on the recent fire incident. As per the carmaker’s spokesperson, the incident took place due to “the presence of accumulated dry leaves and paper cups on the under body engine guard near the hot silencer assembly have been identified as the cause of the incident. The team is in touch with the customer to provide the best possible solution.”
September 20, 2023: In the latest video, a Tata Safari catches fire in a garage for no apparent reason. There are many instances of fires in cars. In fact, there could be many reasons for these fires. This includes things like aftermarket accessories, manufacturing defects, external factors, etc. Safari is a prominent SUV from the Indian auto giant. It has done pretty well in terms of sales. People loved it since its inception in this current iteration. But due to the increase in the competition in this segment, Tata is planning facelift models for the Harrier and Safari SUVs. Tata Safari Catches Fire
This video comes from Raftaar 7811 on YouTube. It captures a rather shocking case of a Safari SUV in flames. As per the information in the video, this case emerged from Ludhiana, Punjab. A man is seen trying to douse the fire. A Safari is engulfed in flames. By the looks of it, the SUV is completely destroyed by the fire from the inside and out. There are not many details regarding the cause of the fire. Moreover, there are no reports of any injury in this case. We can only hope that no one was in the car at the time of this tragedy.

Fire in Cars
There are various reasons for cars to catch fire. Most of them have to do with aftermarket modifications. There are so many car owners who take their vehicles to car shops to get additional accessories. In cases where the owner gets electronic equipment installed, there are chances of tweaking with the original cables and electronic setup of the vehicle. That could lead to a short circuit later on. We must understand that car makers do a lot of R&D to design components. Simply getting new components in the aftermarket will affect the quality and efficiency. That could lead to failure.

There could be many reasons for this fire. Hence, blaming the carmaker is not right. On top of that, there has not been a thorough investigation. When any car catches fire, an official investigation is underway. It helps diagnose the reason for the fire. In that way, one could get to know the exact cause of the fire. Going forward, people can be more careful about something like it never repeating. Hence, we would refrain from commenting anything at all before an investigation report is available. But we would advise our readers against aftermarket car modifications, particularly the electronics.
