Tata will be launching the 2013 Nano tomorrow, 19th June 2013.
Spy shots and inside information reveal that the Nano will not be getting much of an upgrade inside or out, and changes are limited to cosmetics and improving driving and passenger comfort.
On the outside, the 2013 Nano gets new bumpers and chrome strips both at the bottom of the bonnet and fixed hatch door. The rear bumper does get bigger air vents for better engine cooling. The interior changes start with the addition of glove boxes in the recesses on the dash, the feature was first seen on the Nano special edition in 2012. Other changes include changes in the upholstery and trim colours. The top-end model will be offered with a dash integrated music system which will be connected to two speakers beside the glove boxes on the dash. The music player will have CD/MP3/AUX/USB and Bluetooth connectivity capability.
The 2013 Nano is a stop-gap measure to keep people interested in the brand before a much improved version of the car is launched at the end of the year, reports Autocar. We will keep you updated as the news comes in.

According to a report by Business Standard, recent revenue losses to Tata Motors is not going to stop the company from launching new models in India. At least one new variant of the Nano will be launched in June 2013, and we believe it will be the same mildly tweaked one which was seen testing around a month ago. Watch this space for more info.

Tata Nano never really managed to put the common man on 4 wheels from 2 wheels and the car has been a flop to say the least. But Tata is not done yet and will be soon upgrading the car with a diesel and a CNG motor with the car getting a minor facelift as well in the upcoming 2013 Tata Nano. And the pictures of that facelift have reached the interweb and these pictures were clicked while the latest television advertisement of the car was being shot.
What Is New In 2013 Tata Nano?
The car will get a chrome strip running between the head lamps and the tail lamps with the rear bumper getting slightly redesigned. It will now come with vents to keep the rear engined car slightly cooler. The car looks the same from the side profile and as it has been clearly stated that the facelift will come with the diesel motor, the additional vents might be in place to keep the oil burner cool and the launch of Tata Nano diesel might take place sooner than we expect it to be.
To keep the spirit of the facelift going, the interiors of 2013 Tata Nano get a refresh as well and we think the instrumentation might get revamped as well. Nano diesel is rumoured to be powered by a twin cylinder 800cc diesel engine supported by a Garett turbocharger and will develop 40PS@4,000RPM with the peak torque being 94NM which will come in at a relatively lower 2,500RPM. The facelift will also bring a host of new colour options with dark blue being one of them.
The Tata Nano is still termed as the engineering wonder than India gave to the world but the same has never really show in the sales figures of the car. The car has the image of something between a 2 wheeler and a 4 wheeler instead of a proper car. But the diesel engine might be the shot in the arm that the Nano needs and advertising campaigns have always boosted the dismal sales of Nano. What will the diesel motor do for the Nano is what we’ll see when the car hits the Indian roads.
