Ever since its launch, the Tesla Cybertruck has been in the news for its design. It features a hard-edged futuristic design with a metal look. Now, an Indian YouTube channel has redesigned an electric auto rickshaw to look like a Tesla Cybertruck. This video highlights Indian ingenuity and creativity. Let’s take a closer look.

As you can see in the above video by the Indian Hacker team, the Tesla Cyber Auto Rickshaw is rendered in Black. It features glass panels in a pyramid formation and a heavily tinted black film. The innovative auto is based on a disassembled electric auto rickshaw. However, the chassis was extended with various metal components. While the cabin gets a 360-degree panoramic view of the surroundings, the glass structure enhances the greenhouse effect. It also lacks proper air circulation.
To access the driver’s seat, the entire structure has to be lifted. There are two levers that allow the driver to control the vehicle’s speed. The modified auto uses similar principles as tanks to turn and manoeuvre. This means that it moves in the direction of the slower-moving wheels. The prototype unit is designed for a single occupant only. The video does not provide any details about the specs of the Tesla Cyber Auto Rickshaw. The vehicle’s range or charging time is not clear.

Not Road Legal
It is to be noted that such modifications are illegal. As per Indian rules, any modified vehicles need to get approved by the RTO (Regional Transport Office). Also, if structural changes are made to a vehicle, the vehicle must pass ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) tests. Any such vehicle on a public road can be seized by police. While the Tesla Cyber Auto Rickshaw highlights the creativity and vision of the designers, crashworthiness and other safety precautions must be kept in mind before making such heavy changes to any vehicle.
