With BMW and Mercedes gearing up for a grander 2014, Audi is nowhere behind. The German car-maker, is leaving no stone unturned to literally justify the new Audi A4 as “new”. Audi plans to re design every minute details of the car on the inside as well as outside. The management’s huge plans for revamping begin at shedding no less that 100 Kg in curb weight. The loss of such metal weight means greater ease of handling and better fuel efficiency. Aiming at fuel efficiency the air intakes have also been enlarged. The new vehicle shall make use of magnesium, aluminum and plastics extensively accounting for the lost kilos. Audi A4 shall owe some of its new muscular form to the new sleeker headlights and six-sided grille. The Indian market has huge potential; hence car’s arrival in India should be somewhere around it official launch in the international market. The car shall include an elaborate infotainment system.
The 2014 A4 will also come with a plethora of engine choices plus a plug-in hybrid variant introduced a few months after the launch. The plug in variant shall team up a 2.0-liter TFSI engine with Audi’s e-quattro system in order to enable the vehicle to travel a certain distance purely on electricity.Though nothing can be said with certainty but hints are that engine choices may include a 1.4-liter TFSI with 150 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, two 2.0-liter TFSI offerings with 177 hp and 255 hp, multiple 2.0-liter TDI choices with 122 hp, 136 hp, 150 hp, and 190 hp.
The hopes are up and the market as well as Audi enthusiasts are awaiting the arrival of the car that is undergoing major transformation, that aim at making it a heavily sought after car for the coming few years.
