Suzuki has taken the opportunity presented to it at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013 to display a host of concept and production ready models. And it is not just the two wheeler department where the company has its presence in. Suzuki showcase the GW250S at the auto show and the bike is a semi-faired sibling of the naked street fighter GW250 whose spyshots of being present in India were brought to you a few days ago by us.
The semi-faired GW250S sees the addition of a fairing which comes with quite a big windshield and makes the bike look more focused towards touring. The fairing goes up till the fuel tank of the bike and the engine is uncovered so extreme riding might generate some heat which will be felt by you. The bike receives minor changes here and there to keep in sync with the touring character of the bike.
The handlebar sees a rise in its position as compared to the naked variant. The heart of the bike is the same 248cc two cylinder engine that pumps out 26 BHP and a peak torque of 24.2 NM. A slight bump in the torque would have been welcome seeing the fact that the bike is more focused towards touring. The bike will first hit the Chinese shores and will then be launched globally by the company.
Suzuki India is still struggling to get a grip in the two wheeler market and now it is looking to get that strong hold with the help of the entry level performance biking segment The quarter litre bikes are what an entry level enthusiast looks at and Suzuki wants to put forth a strong case in its favour by launching the GW250. The news of the naked version being launched in India has been doing rounds on the internet for a while and the coming of the semi faired version would surely boost its appeal.
