In this latest video, an Indian vlogger offers a walkaround tour of the Toyota Veloz and calls it a mini Fortuner. She is currently in Indonesia for the prominent Auto Show. As a result, she has access to the latest models from various carmakers across the globe who have displayed their cars there. She vlogs about vehicles that might be relevant to the Indian market. Toyota and Maruti Suzuki sell badge-engineered products in India. However, the vlogger represents this Veloz which could serve as the Maruti Ertiga rival in India. Let us take a look at the details of this MPV here.

Toyota Veloz or Mini Fortuner?
This video comes from Rajni Chaudhary on YouTube. She has the MPV in the flesh. At the front, the Veloz has a fascia which looks slightly similar to the Fortuner. This includes things like sleek LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a massive grille finished in black materials, a chrome belt running above it across the width of the car, useful fog lamps on the extreme edges of the bumper and a sporty skid plate underneath the bumper. On the sides, one gets elegant dual-tone 17-inch alloys, dark silver cladding on the door panels, a chrome belt under the window frame, body-coloured wheel arches, compact roof rails and black A, B and C pillars. At the rear, there are split-LED taillamps which are connected with a chrome and light bar, a roof-mounted spoiler, reflector lights in the edges of the bumper, a chrome element on the boot lid and a rugged skid plate on the sporty bumper.

Interior and Features
The cabin layout of the Veloz is decent too. This includes things like a digital instrument cluster, a free-floating touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted multimedia controls, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport), electronic parking brake, wireless charging, automatic climate control, layered dashboard, silver accents around centre console, door panels and steering wheel, 7-seat arrangement, reclining second-row seats, rear AC vents, plenty of cup holders at the front and rear and more. All in all, the Veloz is quite feature-rich. There are 6 airbags, ABS, Traction Control EBD, ESP, all four disc brakes, etc.

Specs
Toyota Veloz comes with a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine which generates 106 hp and 137 Nm of peak power and torque. This particular model has a CVT automatic gearbox. Despite being an MPV, it has a decent ground clearance of 205 mm. It is around 4.4 m in length and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. These power and torque figures are almost identical to the Ertiga in India. That is why the vlogger makes a case that Toyota could launch this in India instead of the upcoming Rumion which is, essentially, a rebadged Ertiga. But we understand that bringing an entirely new product is an expensive affair and needs large volumes of sales to make sense from the business point of view.
