A vlogger performs an underwater test of the Ola electric scooter. He has the S1 Pro trim, which is the top model in the lineup. Ola is a prominent Indian EV startup. It is one of the most well-known electric two-wheeler manufacturers in the country. Its S1 Pro and S1 Air are quite popular, particularly among young buyers. Sure, there have been some issues with the quality of the EVs as iterated by some users. But the company is working to address these. For now, let us take a look at this video where a vlogger tests the electric scooter on various parameters.

Electric Scooter Underwater Test
This video comes from Indian MadMan on YouTube. He has the Ola S1 Pro with him. He decides to test almost all the specifications that the company claims. This includes things like the boot space, weight, performance, battery, water-proof capabilities and more. To start with, he fills the boot of the electric scooter with water. He is able to fill 36 litres in it which is also what the company claims. The water also drains itself immediately. Thereafter, he goes for the water-proof test. He creates a compact pool with water and the EV is being driven in it. There are no issues with the scooter. It functions quite well despite being inundated with water.

For the next tests, he has to take the bike for a long ride. He wants to test the claimed range of the EV. In Sport mode, the EV shows a range of 118 km on a full charge. He tests it thoroughly. When the bike reaches 20%, it automatically shifts to Normal and then Eco mode to maximize range. Interestingly, he was able to get around 118 km on a single charge. Then there is also the weight test. Ola claims the weight to be around 125 kg and the YouTuber found it to be 128 kg which is very close. Finally, he also attaches it to the tablecloth and drives the scooter at high speed. The cloth pulls from underneath the cutlery. But that hardly proves anything.

What We Think
We really appreciate the attention to detail this vlogger displays in his video. He tests all the practical claims that the company reveals. It is great to know whether or not the storage compartment is what the company says. Also, water-proof capabilities are also necessary since most bike owners will need to park their Ola electric scooters outside. Being an EV, it can’t malfunction. The performance part was particularly impressive. Many times, the claimed range figures are so different to what the EVs achieve in real life. But the fact that it is not the case with S1 Pro is encouraging.
