A couple of blurry brochure scans of the next generation Toyota Fortuner have surfaced online. While the images don’t reveal the vehicle in entirety, there is a clear influence of the Land Cruiser.

Next-gen Toyota Fortuner Has Land Cruiser and Innova Crysta Influence
The Toyota Fortuner is easily India’s most aspirational large SUV. In fact, the SUV’s popularity reached new heights after the exit of its rival, the Ford Endeavour. Meanwhile, the Land Cruiser has been synonymous with luxury and power. The leaked brochure images on Instagram conjures a vision where the two iconic Toyotas intertwine. At the front-end, there’s a pretty wide grille, almost the size of the one on the LC200. This merges seamlessly with the sleek LED headlamp that too take inspiration from the Land Cruiser.Meanwhile, unique elements under the headlight cluster add character. The air-dam at the bottom of the bumper houses LED DRLs on its edges, enhancing the SUV’s allure.
In the side profile, the new-gen model looks a lot like the current version. The pillars (B, C, and D) and the rear quarter windows are highly reminiscent of the ongoing generation. Inside, the dashboard, especially the centre console, would remind you of the Land Cruiser. Also, from the looks of it, the cabin will feature richer materials than those scene on the current SUV.

The ongoing generation of the Toyota Fortuner is available with two engine options – a 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel. These powertrains offer 164 hp with 245 Nm torque, and 201 hp with 420 Nm (500 Nm when coupled with an automatic transmission), respectively. The transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic unit. The SUV is available in both 2WD and 4WD formats.
Prices of the Toyota Fortuner currently range from Rs 32.99 lakh to Rs 50.74 lakh (ex-showroom). There are very good chances that the next-gen model would cost considerably more. However, the SUV just might be able to justify the higher prices through more luxury, modern features, off-road capability and the strong brand image.
