Toyota Fortuner Aftermarket Accessories
This post comes from motorpoint_arena on Instagram. It captures a rather horrifying visual. There is a white Fortuner completely engulfed in flames on the side of the road. Looking closely, one could tell that this is a Fortuner. The visuals then take the viewers to the front profile. One could barely tell which model it is. The flames have consumed the entire vehicle. The man who is making the video informs that the owner has installed aftermarket headlights. He had installed 130W bulbs while the company recommends 110W. As a result, there was a short circuit the next day leading to a massive fire.

We can estimate the kind of violent fire as no one was able to douse it. In a matter of some time, the entire vehicle was reduced to ashes. This is a common problem in aftermarket modified cars. Often, the components are not OEM-standard. This results in short circuits leading to fires. Most people tamper with the electronics of the cars. That is never a good idea. The charm of such mods is the aesthetic appeal more than anything else. But the consequences are rather significant.

What We Think
Such incidents are becoming rather common these days. Inexpensive aftermarket modifications, particularly in the electrical department are extremely dangerous. That is why we must strive to stay away from these at all costs. People must suppress their desires to just go for the aesthetic elements to make their cars look unique. But we must also consider the downsides. The most prominent negative aspect is the fact that the company warranty is not valid after such customizations. Hence, if an accident like this occurs, you won’t get anything from the insurance company and must bear the entire financial burden yourself.
