Toyota Urban Cruiser/Suzuki Grand Vitara
The first cars to feature in the list are the Toyota Urban Cruiser/Suzuki Grand Vitara twins. Developed by Toyota and Suzuki in collaboration in India, the HyRyder/Vitara twins feature a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated engine that puts out 102 BHP and 138 Nm. Belonging to Suzuki’s K series family of engines, power is channeled out through a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Additionally, there’s all-wheel drive available in the Suzuki Grand Vitara which sets it apart from other compact crossovers. An efficient engine combined with a feature-loaded cabin makes the Urban Cruiser/Grand Vitara a compelling buy. Prices for the twins range between 78000 AED to 85000 AED.

Skoda Kushaq
The next vehicle up on this list is the Skoda Kushaq. Based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, the Skoda Kushaq is a crossover that has made a name for itself in the Indian market for its driving dynamics and safety. Unlike the Indian market, the Kushaq in UAE gets only the smaller 1.0-litre TSI engine that puts out 113 BHP and 178 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic for putting down the power. The Kushaq in UAE is offered in two well-equipped trims, namely Ambition and Style. While the Ambition is priced at 69,900 AED, the Style variant is priced at 79,900 AED. In addition to all of this, long extended warranty options too make the Kushaq a solid option in this price range.
Kia Sonet
The Kia Sonet is another one of the made-in-India cars that has made its way to the UAE market. In typical Kia fashion, the Sonet sports a feature-loaded cabin like the Indian domestic spec car. Some of these features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen with phone projection, a digital gauge cluster, leather seats, etc. Powering the UAE spec Sonet is the 1.5-litre MPi 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that puts out 115 BHP and 144 Nm of torque. All this power and torque is put down with the help of a Continuously Variable Transmission that Kia calls IVT. Prices start at 65000 AED for the Sonet.

Kia Carens
The Carens is a nameplate that has been around for a while. However, in its current guise, it has made its way to the UAE from India. Like its stablemate Sonet, the Carens too features the same 1.5 litre engine that’s good for 115 BHP and 144 Nm while being paired to Kia’s IVT gearbox. And again in typical Kia fashion, the cabin is feature loaded. However, the fact that this car can accommodate 7 people with ease sets it apart from other vehicles in the 65000 AED to 85000 AED price point while offering an engine that is economical to operate.
Suzuki Fronx
The fifth vehicle up on the list is the newly launched Suzuki Fronx. Most vehicles here were available in their home markets for a while before coming to UAE. The Fronx, though, made its way to UAE shores almost immediately. Powered by the same K15C engine as the Urban Cruiser, it puts out 101.6 BHP and 136 Nm of torque. Transmission duties on the Fronx are handled by a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. With an attractive price tag of 59000 AED and a cabin comprising features such as a 7-inch touchscreen, a 4.2-inch MID, cruise control, and more, the Fronx does make a case for itself.
