This tug of war between the popular Maruti Jimny and Toyota Fortuner is quite interesting. New YouTubers often opt for such competitions to assess the performances of various cars. It is available in the 5-door version in India for the first time ever. On the other hand, the Toyota Fortuner is the best 7-seat off-roading SUV in the country since its launch. Maruti Jimny vs Toyota Fortuner Tug of War
This video comes from MRD Cars on YouTube. The YouTubers tie the two SUVs together from the rear using tow hooks. They mention that this might seem a bit unfair competition but they are doing this just for fun. In the first round, both SUVs are in 4×2 configurations. On the count of three, the Fortuner is able to drag the Jimny due to its raw power. For the next round, the Jimny is put in 4×4 high mode. The result is almost the same. In the final round, the YouTuber puts the Jimny in 4×4 low mode. This time around, it gives tough competition to the Fortuner and both SUVs stand their ground.

What We Think
These days, tug of war is used by YouTubers to assess the capabilities of two vehicles. However, it should be noted that this approach might not be entirely beneficial, as lasting effects on the cars can result from such competition. Typically, cars are not driven in this manner with hard acceleration in a straight line. Therefore, conducting such scenarios with personal cars is not advisable due to safety concerns and potential damage to the vehicle’s mechanics. Our readers are strongly advised against participating in such stunts. Tug of war doesn’t represent the full picture since daily driving rarely involves such aggressive manoeuvres. The main focus should be on prioritizing safety and the long-term well-being of your car.
