Maruti Jimny vs Mahindra Thar Headlight Test
This video has been uploaded by MRD Cars on YouTube. The YouTuber has parked the two SUVs side-by-side during the night time. They are in the middle of nowhere. Note that the Thar does not come with LED headlamps although it has LED tail lamps. On the other hand, the Jimny has LED projector headlamps and regular halogens as taillamps. Firstly, the YouTuber shows the throw of the light of Mahindra Thar. He tests it on low beam as well as high bean. In high beam, the light seems a bit scattered. On the other hand, the throw of the light of Jimy is quite uniform and long-ranged. We feel that it has the better light of the two.

These engines can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed Torque Converter automatic transmission. What We Think
Almost all modern cars above the entry-level segment come with LED headlamps these days. That is why it is a bit disappointing to see the Thar not get it. Also, the performance is reflected in this video as well. Nevertheless, we must mention that it’s not like you won’t be able to see anything in the night. Its halogen lamps are perfectly fine. As a matter of fact, a lot of vehicles on the road still use halogen headlamps. Therefore, we don’t reckon that it will be a deal breaker for anyone.
