If the Big B can not sell a product to the people who literally worship him, then there is something gravely wrong with the product. But how often does that happen? Once in a blue moon and that is precisely what has happened with the Force One SUV. The car looked old-school but had acres of cabin space and offered a lot of practicality. But it came at a price point at which people could buy a better kitted SUVs which looked way more modern. As a result, the Force One SUV literally bombed at the sales charts.

It is believed that Force Motors will be launching three new variants which will complement the one variant of the Force One already available in the market – The basic EX Variant which will be rear-wheel driven, the 4×4 LX variant and a top end 4×4 SX variant which will feature ABS.
The variants may be launched by August 2013.

But Force Motors has realized that the Indian would prefer a VFM product any day over anything. And they have started working precisely on that. Force Motors intends on launching a stripped down version of the Force One SUV in the market which Force expects to be the one which would get their sales volumes getting a momentum. Force also intends on adding more fitments to the SUV and give it all those gimmicks that competition has.
And today we have the spy shots of the stripped down variant for you courtesy our friends back at Motoroids. The base variant would miss out on the body coloured bumpers, body coloured ORVMs, the daytime running LED lights, fog lamps, alloy wheels, roof rails and the chrome inserts on the inside. The body coloured ORVMs and bumpers would be replaced by black plastic units to keep the costs minimum and we expect the interiors to get a bit less premium as well to decrease the costs furthermore.
The SUV comes with a class leading 2.2 litre Daimler sourced engine and some reports suggest that even this might get replaced by the 2.6 litre engine that currently powers the Force Trax and gives out paltry 60 horses. But we highly doubt that would happen as one of the USPs of the car have been the Daimler engine. Force Motors is expected to launch the stripped down variant in the first quarter of the year 2013 along with the top of the line 4WD variant as well.
Also as per the recent development, Force is going to launch the Force Gurkha SUV on 15th of Feb in Greater Noida, so it is also speculated that they may also unveil or announce this new base model of Force One there along with Gurkha.
We’ll let you know as soon as that happens and any information that comes to our knowledge. Stay tuned folks.
