YouTubers often deploy the method of drag race to compare the performances and capabilities of two vehicles.
In this video, a drag race competition has been organised between a Hyundai i20 N Line and a Venue N Line. For the uninitiated, the N Line represents the performance division of the Korean carmaker which develops slightly sportier versions of regular products. We must mention here that N Line is different from the N division which is the hardcore performance department of Hyundai. In India, we have the N Line versions of the i20 premium hatchback, as well as the Venue compact SUV. Let us take a look at how these two compete against each other despite having a similar powertrain.

In the first round, Venue takes the lead and stays ahead throughout the course of the race. i20 is quick and tries to catch up but loses by a tiny margin.

However, the subsequent rounds were quite interesting. To maintain the reproducibility and consistency of the results, the team decided to swap the drivers for the next rounds. All the other parameters remained the same. Interestingly, on these occasions, the i20 emerged victorious. Still, the gap between the two was not too large. That is a testament to the well-engineered calibration of these two vehicles. All in all, the YouTuber adjudges the i20 as the winner because of the way it handles and feels. Naturally, its default body type lends better to enthusiastic and spirited driving.
