We have seen innumerable modifications to the Maruti Jimny as soon as the deliveries have commenced.
This is the latest case of a Maruti Jimny being converted into a Mercedes G63 AMG. Jimny has been the talk of the town ever since it is launched a month ago. We have encountered many instances of the owners going for extreme modifications to make it look butch. In stock settings, Jimny is one of the most popular 3-door lightweight off-roading SUVs in the world with a rich legacy of over 50 years. In India, the 5-door version of the Jimny has been launched for the very first time ever. Let us take a look at the details of this latest modification here.

Maruti Jimny to Mercedes G63 Conversion
This image has been shared with us by one of our reader friends. It shows a Jimny that’s in stock condition upto the A-pillars. Meanwhile, one gets a glimpse of the G-Wagon as soon as he looks at the front. The entire front section has been slapped with a G-Wagon kit. One can barely figure out any inconsistencies with the design. There is a tri-star logo on a massive grille, iconic round headlamps, a clamshell bonnet with turn indicators mounted on the extreme edges, a rugged bumper and a tough skid plate integrated into the bumper design. The wheel arches are massive imposing the G-Wagon motif even deeper.

Specs
Maruti Jimny has a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated K15B petrol engine under its hood that generates a healthy 103 hp and 134 Nm of peak power and torque. The engine is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The power is sent to all four wheels via Suzuki’s trademark ALLGRIP PRO 4×4 drivetrain with a low-range transfer case and locking differential. The ground clearance is a handy 210 mm and the approach, break-over and departure angles are 36°, 24° and 50° respectively. The prices range from an attractive Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 15.05 lakh, ex-showroom.

What We Think
We have admittedly seen many modifications on the new Jimny ever since its launch just a month ago. People are quite passionate about this lightweight off-roader. It offers immense off-roading capabilities without compromising on practicality due to the 5-door design. However, we must caution our readers to not go for such heavy modifications before consulting your local RTO. Most car modifications are not legal in India. Therefore, there are high chances that you might land in hot waters with the cops after getting something this done to the car. Hence, a conversion of Maruti Jimny to Mercedes G-Wagon like this might not actually be legitimate.
