To be unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show is the Rolls-Royce Wraith which Rolls-Royce is termed as the “most dynamic, powerful and beautiful car in the company’s history”. Yes, all the adjectives cited here have been directly quoted from Rolls-Royce official statement, which makes my mind go in wonder- What is Rolls-Royce up to! Rolls-Royce has commented that the Wraith will be showcasing the boldest and the most dramatic performance ever seen from any of the Rolls-Royce cars in its entire history. If you are a big Rolls-Royce fan, just like me then you can put your imagination at work to figure out what can be more beautiful than the Rolls-Royce Phantom.
Unfortunately, Rolls-Royce has not revealed any pictures of the car yet. All they have released is a smoky screen. Rolls CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös said about the Wraith while he was attending a a dealer conference in London that “Expect the boldest design, the most dramatic performance and the most powerful Rolls-Royce that has ever played host to the famous Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. “We will present a model whose starting point is luxury, refinement and exclusivity, traits that have made Rolls-Royce the world’s pinnacle luxury good for the last 108 years. This is a car not only defined by a timeless elegance, but one that encapsulates a sense of power, style and drama.”
Taking you back to history, the Wraith is not a new name coined by Rolls-Royce. In 1938, Rolls-Royce first used this name for new car back then which featured a 4.3-litre straight-six engine that produced 30 BHP of power. It has hydraulic dampers as suspension units that were speed variable. Rolls-Royce sold only 492 of such examples after which its production was stopped. In what is being termed as “The Return of the Wraith”, the new avatar is definitely going to have a bigger engine- perhaps a 6.6 litre, twin turbo V12 which will produce close to 600 BHP of power. This car is definitely going to be a show stealer at the Geneva Motor Show.
