The next generation of the Honda Jazz is something on which Honda Cars is betting big time to give them a boost in their sales. Some markets know it as the Honda Fit and this platform will spawn three car styles which would cover all the mass market and lucrative segments. The Honda Jazz platform will spawn a new hatchback, a sedan and a Compact SUV. The sedan will debut as the next generation Honda City and the SUV’s concept images are all over the interweb.
The CUV or the Honda Urban SUV concept spawned from the Jazz platform will go head to head with the Nissan Juke and the Fiat 500X . The SUV segment has seen a strong growth in developing as well as developed markets and how could Honda not jump on the wagon of the SUVs. And the Urban SUV concept is just the resultant of that. The concept SUV will hit the production assemblies in an year or so and shall be car that will be a bit more premium than the rivals.
India will be one of the most important markets for the company and the cars that will come from the Jazz segment. The City sedan has seen a lot of success over the years its been there and the next generation City is surely bound to carry on the legacy of being a great sedan. The CUV segment by the time Honda’s CUV hits the Indian shores would be full of competitors and Honda would need to need to do something really extra ordinary with their CUV to make it stand out from the crowd. It will compete with cars like Ford EcoSport, Maruti XA-Alpha, Mahindra Quanto to name a few.
And now let’s talk about what would be under the hood of the next gen brigade from the house of Honda. Petrol engines are expected to be standard on them as Honda has been known to give the most refined petrol engines. The 1.5 Liter i-DTEC turbo diesel engine is the one which would bring in volumes for the company in countries like India. This engine will make its way into different cars in different states of tune and the success of the next generation cars is something Honda is betting big on. The first Diesel engine from Honda will debut in Honda Amaze in India in April 2013.
