Maruti Jimny is barely days old and people have commenced taking it to the aftermarket for hardcore modifications.
This has to be India’s first fully modified Maruti Jimny with mods worth a whopping Rs 4.5 lakh. India’s First Ever Modified Maruti Jimny
There are various sources that have captured the details of this unique Jimny. This video has been uploaded by itsaviraltv on YouTube. The vlogger shows all the additional equipment being fitted into the SUV at the car shop. This includes Enkei Japan RPT1 16x6J with 0 inset, Tanabe Japan Coilover Kit that is height and damping adjustable raising the car between 10 mm and 35 mm and adjusting the softness or stiffness of the shocks and struts via a 14-click adjustable dial. There are Tanabe front and rear lateral rods, steering damper and front strut brace.

All in all, these modifications are needed if you wish to lift the SUV significantly. This has tons of benefits for off-roading scenarios where ground clearance and stiff suspension are of the essence. That could make all the difference if you are stuck in some far-flung area with no roads. The visuals make Jimny look imposing and the vlogger also mentions that in real life, it makes the SUV load broad and tall. In its stock stance, one might find it slightly narrow and small. But this lift kit has resolved that issue.

Aftermarket car modification is a very tricky business for multiple reasons. For of all, the car shop must be highly skilled and knowledgeable to execute such hardcore modifications properly. There are many shops that just slap on this kit without making necessary changes to the other components. That can lead to issues in the long term. Secondly, most car modifications are illegal in India. Therefore, you could get in trouble with the cops and be asked to remove these. Hence, you have to first consult your RTO to check if the mods you want are allowed or not.
