The latest entrant into the lifestyle hardcore off-roading segment in India is the much-anticipated Maruti Jimny.
In this latest digital illustration, Maruti Jimny has been rendered in the Dakar Rally Edition. For the uninitiated, Dakar Rally is an annual rally organised by Amaury Sport Organisation which was incepted back in 1978. The rally was staged from Paris, France to Dakar, Senegal. However, these events took place in South America from 2009 to 2019 due to security threats in Mauritania in 2008. It is one of the most challenging and prominent rally races in the world. There is a lifted double wishbone suspension at the front and rear, colossal all-terrain tyres that extend out of the body with appropriate treads to ensure maximum traction during off-tarmac conditions, they have white painted spokes lending a retro feel, stickers of sponsors all around the body, painted rear windows, 14 light pods to ensure maximum visibility during the night on the bumper and roof and more.

In addition to that, there are components like a snorkel to enhance water-wading capacity, hood vents, custom bumpers, skid bars, a practical roof rack to carry loads of luggage, spare wheel mounted on the boot lid, boxy silhouette, horizontal taillamps, and more. The designer mentions that his design has been inspired by the OG Gypsy that had been a prominent product in our market for ages. Renditions like these will surely give innovative ideas to Jimny owners who are looking to make their SUVs look unique and accentuate their off-roading prowess.
