BMW recently launched the new version of the popular SUV the BMW X5 with a few minor changes incorporated to make this car better in performance as well as appearance. The car has been released with minor face-lifting including the reshaped front end, air intakes inspired by the BMW X5 M, a redesigned rear bumper and the car will now come with almost every part painted in the body’s main color rather than black. BMW has also added a distinct contoured hood, a large BMW kidney grille with dual round headlights
BMW X5 2011 Features
The most important changes are made on the inside of the hood with the replacement of the older engines with the newer and more powerful engines. The xDrive 35i with a 3.0 litre inline 6 cylinder engine producing 303PS and sprints 0-60mph in 6.4 sec, will replace the previous xDrive 30i, and will be coming with most of the 2011 BMW line up. The xDrive 50i will have a 4.4liter V8 twin turbo engine producing 404PS and sprinting to 60mph in 5.3 sec, will replace the older xDrive 48i. The xDrive 50i is also seen in other BMW cars like the seven series, X6 and Five series BMW Gran Tourismo and these two engines will be sporting an eight speed automatic transmission gearbox along with a brake energy regeneration system.
BMW X5 2011 Specifications
BMW has replaced its twin-turbo 3.0L N54 , it with the new N55 3.0L single twin-scroll turbocharger inline 6-cylinder while X5 xDrive 50i will replace the earlier X5 xDrive48i, but unfortunately will be powered by the same 4.4L twin-turbo V8 making 400-hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. But the X5 xDrive 35d will remain unchanged generating 265-PS with a torque output of 425 lb-ft, while providing a 0-60 mph run in 6.9 seconds, the X5 xDrive 35d manages to provide an EPA of 19/26 mpg (city/highway).
The body design is fresh, well balanced and proportionate with a long wheelbase, short front and rear body overhangs, and large light-alloy wheels providing a balance of appearance between the front and rear. The body lines are moving upwards from the rear and front wheels giving you a hint about the near-perfect 50-50 front-rear weight distribution being essential to the X5’s driving dynamic. Other features include contoured hood, large BMW kidney grille and dual round headlights,leading the BMW X5 with an expressive front end that symbolizes power and presence. The dual round Xenon Adaptive headlights and fog-lamps are now located at a higher and closer level to the kidney grille. The X5’s new headlights emphasize high quality and sporty intentions while BMW’s signature corona rings account for the position lights and daytime driving lights.

The price in Indian rupees has not been announced yet.
In existing markets, however, prices for the base 2011 BMW X5 xDrive35i are kept as $46,675 while the Premium X5 xDrive35i and the Sports Activity X5 xDdrive35i will cost you $52,475 and $54,975 respectively. The 2011 X5 xDrive50i will come with a price tag of $59,275 including destination and handling charges and the diesel X5 xDrive35d will start at $52,175.
