Tata Punch is a massively popular micro SUV that has been a success since its inception but the launch of the Hyundai Exter could steal away some of its limelight
This Tata Punch facelift is a digital visualization based on the figment of the artist’s imagination. Punch has been doing extremely well in our market from the time it was launched. Its SUV-ish stance, bold styling, 5-star safety rating, latest features, etc are some of the reasons why people are buying it like hotcakes. Because of its safety and affordability, it has featured on the list of the top 10 highest-selling cars in the country. However, as of now, the facelift for the Punch doesn’t seem to be in the offing. Instead, the carmaker has been working overtime on the development of the facelifts for Nexon, Harrier and Safari. Still, with the Hyundai Exter being around the corner, an updated version of the Punch might make sense Here is a unique digital concept to raise our curiosity about the actual facelift.

On the sides, the Punch greets the onlookers with flaring and squared wheel arches and black side body cladding to accentuate the adventurous side of the SUV. In addition to that, there are black side pillars and body-coloured ORVMs. The door handle for the rear passengers is situated on the C-pillar which is the trend we have seen on modern cars quite a lot. At that rear, there is a roof-mounted spoiler and LED tail lamps that are connected via an LED strip that runs across the boot lid of the vehicle. There are tri-arrow motifs on the rugged bumper highlighting the ruggedness of the SUV. One could very well imagine all these changes making it to production.

What We Think
While this digital iteration is quite compelling and practical, we will be excited to see if the Punch such a makeover. It was launched back in October 2021, which means a mid-cycle update shouldn’t be a distant possibility. An updated model could actually help the carmaker thwart any threat from the Hyundai Exter. With the growing competition in the segment, it becomes necessary for Tata Motors to ensure that the Punch remains updated and refreshed to keep sales high. People already love the micro SUV so much and would be excited to see the facelift model too. But we will have to wait a bit longer since there are no official announcements about the launch yet.
