An Indian techie in the USA recently undertook the job of an Uber driver for a day. Driving Uber is a job that a lot of people adopt in many parts of the world. This is especially true when people move to a new country. This allows a great opportunity for anyone wanting to do a part-time job. It has flexible timings which is what the students need during their courses. Whenever they get free time, they can apply for this job and start driving Uber. Note that there is an additional $1 tip on the Uber app if you are driving an electric car.

Indian Techie in USA Becomes Uber Driver
The video has been uploaded by Singh in the USA on YouTube. It captures the YouTuber trying out Uber driving for one day to compare his salary with what he makes as a Software Engineer. He owns a Tesla which makes him a part of the Uber Green initiative where he gets a $1 additional tip on every trip that he makes. He makes his account on Uber for which one must have at least 1 year of driving experience in the USA. For his first ride, he gets some nice people with whom, he is able to strike up a great conversation.

The entire video captures his other trips. He was able to do 5 trips in around 2 and a half hours. He shows that his last trip was quite horrible because the riders were not honest about the trip. They told him that it would be a 5-minute journey but it took a total of 40 mins in the end. To claim that, he had to input the location of the travel manually. All in all, he was able to make $38 in 2 hours 20 mins. This puts to rest the claims that some Uber drivers make that they are able to earn around $35 per hour with it.

Driving Uber on the side is a practice that a lot of people in many parts of the world adopt. The fact that one could choose his/her shift timings is a major pull for a whole bunch of people. Apart from that, the income can be varying depending on the tips that one gets. Therefore, you might not make $200,000 each year by driving Uber every time, but the wages can still be quite healthy to sustain yourself well. With time, these could increase. Also, if you get active in our areas like airport pickups, you might be able to make $35 per hour. Hence, the possibilities are infinite.
