Tata Nano as a car has seen bright days as well as dark nights in our automobile market. The car received many awards, appreciations for its design and the purpose it was built but even after such acclaims Tata has not received the kind of sales it expected. Reason for low sales figures are many, ‘Cheapest car’ title, Nano catching fire are few examples. Tata Nano is in news again and this time one of the Tata Nano has been spotted in Malaysia.
Tata Nano has received public attention from the day its development was announced but the sales record disappointed guys at Tata. Tata wants to achieve its initial sales record and for that the company decided to export the Nano to south Asian counties as well as Europe. The Nano spied in Malaysia is not just a coincidence but a planned decision as recently Mr Ratan Tata the chairman of Tata recently had a talk with the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Mr Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin regarding his plan to launch Nano in Malaysian Automobile market.
Mr Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin told Malaysian press that about seven or eight years ago, there were some joint discussions to manufacture cars but nothing came out of it, we have suggested to Tata to bring a technical team to hold further discussions with Proton and even Perodua. Proton and Perodua are two automobile giants in Malaysian automobile market.
People at Tata are taking serious steps to set up Nano in world market. As for European market Nano will be developed majorly from design prospectus to engine tunings. As for the Indian version Tata recently launched the 2012 Tata Nano will some improvements. Tata recently has delayed its plan to launch the Nano diesel and rumours are also there regarding Tata working on Nano for some boot space. For the Malaysian version Tata will surely tune up the car and hope it becomes the people’s car in international market as well.
We will keep an eye on the developments and keep you posted, stay tuned to Car Blog India for latest updates.
