The ongoing 2012 Sao Paulo International Motor Show in Brazil is drawing a lot of attention. A number of important, though Brazil specific, cars are being unveiled there. Some of the recently unveiled vehicles are Volkswagen Taigun, Nissan Extrem Concept and Honda HB20X. Talking about the HB20X, we already know that it is a crossover based on the Honda HB20 hatchback and is a model created specifically for the Brazilian market.
This concept of HB20X is quite interesting as Hyundai increased the ground clearance of the HB20, added black plastic moldings, side cladding and even added some extra cosmetic features to give it the appeal of a crossover.
Now Honda has also done something similar and has launched a crossover based on the Honda Fit hatchback called Honda Fit Twist. Honda Fit is nothing but our very own Jazz. The Twist crossover is also the first vehicle from Honda that has been specifically designed for the Brazilian market.
Alike the HB20X, it is also an off-roader by its looks only and not by the qualities. While we see SUVs with all wheel drive systems, the Fit Twist crossover pulls itself through the front wheels only (as in the hatchback variant). But unlike Hyundai which was tweaked the suspension and ride height of the HB20 to convert it into HB20X, Honda has left the suspension and height untouched.

On the inside the Fit Twist features a new upholstery, chrome accents on the dashboard, AC vents and handbrake, and waterproof floor carpet in the boot area.
Powering the Fit Twist is a 1.5 litre Flex-Fuel petrol engine that produces 116 BH P of max power on ethanol and 115 BHP on petrol. The engine will be mated either to a manual transmission or an automatic transmission. By the end of October the car will go on sale in Brazil and will be priced at $ 28,600 (Rs. 15.3 lakhs) and above.
