Virat Kohli reveals, in a recent interview, the real reason why he bought Tata Safari as his first car. King Kohli has an innate passion for automobiles as indicated by his incredible car collection. However, he has lately been heard saying that it is no more about the performance of cars but about practicality and comfort. However, most people wouldn’t know that his first car used to be the old-gen Tata Safari SUV. Here is the reason why he decided to opt for that.

Virat Kohli Bought Tata Safari as his First Car
This video has been shared by Star Sports on YouTube. It captures a candid conversation between the popular sports presenter, Jatin Sapru and Virat Kohli. Talking about the first car, Kohli says, “Pehli gaadi jo maine li thi khud se vo thi Safari. Safari us time par bhai sahab, aisi gaadi hoti thi ki road par chalegi toh jo saamne se aa rahe hai, vo apne aap he side ho jayenge. Ye motivation this Safari lene ki. Ye nahi tha ki gaadi achi chalti hai, yaa space hai. Jab chalti hai naa toh log hutt jaate hai. (The first car that I bought with my own money was Safari. At that time, Safari used to be the car upon seeing which people used to clear the road on their own. That was the motivation behind buying the Safari, not how it runs or whether it has enough space or not.”

Thereafter, he mentions that these things don’t even cross his mind nowadays. He has a child and he looks for family cars with acres of space and the utmost comfort. Also, in a recent report, he said that is selling most of his cars and called it a part of growing up. Initially, the only motivation behind buying a car was its style. That is the reason why he has so many sportscars in his garage. But now, he tends to lean toward SUVs because they are spacious and comfortable.

Car Collection of Virat Kohli
There are around a dozen cars in his garage. He has been the brand ambassador of Audi India which explains why he has so many Audi cars. His garage contains supercars like Audi R8 LMX, Audi R8, Audi A8L, Audi Q8, electric SUV Audi e-tron, Bentley Flying Spur, Bentley Continental GT, Range Rover Autobiography and more. That is just a glimpse of the kind of taste the former Indian skipper has in automobiles.
