Chevrolet India (General Motors India) has come up with their updated model of New Chevrolet Spark 2012 facelift for India with many major improvements on the interiors as well as exteriors of the car. Spark has note received any uplift in many many years and looks quite plain and dated compared to the competing cars in Indian market launched in past 2 years. Some of the cars which fall in the same price bracket as the Spark are Maruti Alto, Hyundai Eon, Hyundai Santro, Maruti Wagon R etc. which are all high volume generating cars and compared to the sales volumes of the above mentioned small cars, Spark is not clocking any significant sales numbers in past 2 years or so. Considering these shifts in the market and increasing competition, GM India has refreshed its smallest offering in India, the Spark.
New Chevrolet Spark 2012 Price In India
The official prices of new Chevrolet Spark 2012 ex-showroom Delhi is as follows:
- Chevrolet Spark 1.0 is priced at Rs. 3.26 Lakhs
- Chevrolet Spark 1.0 LS is priced at Rs. 3.52 Lakhs
- Chevrolet Spark 1.0 LT is priced at Rs. 3.81 Lakhs
- Chevrolet Spark 1.0 LS LPG-Petrol is priced at Rs. 3.81 Lakhs
- Chevrolet Spark 1.0 LT LPG-Petrol is priced at Rs. 4.10 Lakhs
New Chevrolet Spark 2012 Features and Specifications
Chevrolet India has worked hard on the new Sparks engine and done many improvements to make it a modern day engine with high fuel economy and have optimized the performance by making many small technological changes in the engine.
The new Spark delivers better power and torque at lower speeds thus improving the drivability of the car with improved MPFI technology and better engine tuning and calibration. The new Spark gets a Dual distributor less ignition (DDLI) system with motorized throttle intake system with optical sensors for smooth and fuel efficient performance.
The official numbers are not revealed as yet, but we believe that the new 1 litre petrol engine of the spark produces 63 BHP of peak power and 90 Nm of torque. The new spark comes with a 5 speed manual transmission. The ARAI certified mileage of the new Spark is 18KMPL on petrol.
The suspensions, braking and other mechanicals are not expected to change much except for new suspension tuning for better handling and ride comfort.
In terms of exteriors and interiors, the new Spark gets a new design front and rear bumper, new grille design with elegant looking chrome treatment dual tone treatment on the rear bumper, new light tone interiors which feel more spacious and premium.
