An American Peterbilt truck was spotted in India in a pleasantly surprising video. Now, it is not common to witness a truck from abroad plying on Indian roads. There are several factors for it, including the opposite-side steering wheel, astronomical initial, and import prices and taxes, dimensions of the truck, and tons of RTO formalities. However, if someone truly decides to go ahead with all these certifications and clearances, it is very much possible to drive an American truck on Indian roads.

American Peterbilt Truck in India
Peterbilt is an American truck manufacturer that was established back in 1939. It specializes in the production of heavy-duty and medium-duty commercial vehicles. In fact, it is one of the top companies in the United States of America when it comes to trucks. You must’ve seen these in movies or when watching real-life footage of the American streets. They are exported to neighbouring Canada too. This video has been created by the Out and About channel on YouTube.

The vlogger was traveling from Kolkata to Banaras in their Mahindra XUV700. On the way, they spotted this unique-looking truck. After recording the video, they beckoned the truck driver to stop on the side of the road to have a conversation. The truck driver tells the vlogger that it has been imported from America. It is an old model but the interior of this truck is quite extensive. It bears a Gujarat registration plate. In fact, the vlogger asks permission to enter and film the truck’s cabin.

Interior
There are tons of switches on the inside of the truck along with multiple gauges for oil temperature, pressure measurements, etc. The side door panels are fitted with power window switches and the seat has pneumatic adjustment levers. Almost all the operations in the truck are electronic enhancing the convenience for the driver and the co-driver. Since the dimensions of this truck are monstrous, there are cameras and mirrors at various places so that the visibility of the driver is not compromised. It is fascinating to experience something like this on Indian roads.
