A potential Mahindra Scorpio N buyer cancels the booking and buys the new Hyundai Verna instead. Scorpio N is a mighty popular SUV that commands a huge waiting period. The N represents the new-age and modern version of the veteran Scorpio that has been selling well for years. Similarly, the latest-gen Verna is a representative of the established and mega-successful moniker that has been selling well since its inception in 2006.

Scorpio N Buyer Cancels Booking to Buy Verna
The video has been uploaded by Her Garage on YouTube. The YouTuber interacts with the owner of the Verna. She showcases the Verna in black color purchased by the owner in the SX trim for Rs 15.50 lakh on-road. When asked why he chose this over an SUV, the owner mentioned that he had already booked the Scorpio N Z6 trim. However, the waiting period for the Scorpio N is around 6-7 months. He also checked out the Thar, which had a similar issue. The Verna was available relatively sooner, which is why he went for it.

He considers the SX trim the most value-for-money as it sits below the fully-loaded top trim. That is generally the case with all vehicles. He mentions that his family also owns a Mahindra XUV700 that has ADAS which is barely used. Hence, he found all the features he needed in this trim itself. Additionally, he had already purchased a custom numberplate for Rs 30,000 and it would have become invalid if he didn’t buy a car within 3 months. That was another reason why he opted for the Verna.

The new Hyundai Verna has two powertrains – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine belting out 115 PS / 144 Nm and 160 PS / 253 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. The premium mid-size sedan offers a 6-speed manual, a CVT automatic transmission with the former, and a 6-speed manual and a sporty DCT automatic with the latter. The prices of the new Verna range from Rs 10.90 lakh to Rs 17.38 lakh, ex-showroom. It locks horns with the likes of the Honda City, VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia.
