The Mercedes GLS comes powered by a 3.0-litre V6 petrol, a 4.0-litre V8 petrol and a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine. The power and torque output of the diesel engine is a decent 330 hp and 700 Nm respectively and the engine is mated to a 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox. The smaller petrol engine is good for 362 hp and 500 Nm, while the larger petrol engine develops 550 hp and 730 Nm of peak power and torque. These also come mated to the 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox.

Being the flagship SUV, the GLS comes with all-wheel-drive in all three versions lending it great drivability. The over 5.2 m long SUV comes with a starting price of Rs 1.19 Crore, ex-showroom in India while the top of the line Maybach GLS version can cost over Rs 3 Crore on-road.
