In arguably the biggest management-level development since Petr Solc replaced brand Director Zac Hollis in October 2022, Ajay Raghuvanshi, the head of sales, and Tarun Jha, the head of marketing, have resigned from their respective positions at Škoda Auto India. The same has been communicated to the dealer partners.

Vital Role In Success of ŠKODA India 2.0 Project
It is noteworthy that Raghuvanshi and Jha were an integral part of the ‘India 2.0’ project responsible for the company’s resurrection. Tarun Jha got associated with Skoda India back in 2008 and has over 15 years of experience in the automotive industry. He has even spent time in the Prague-based headquarters of Skoda. Meanwhile, Ajay Raghuvanshi enjoys a strong sales background and has worked with popular brands such as Tata Motors, Hyundai, Honda and Yamaha.
Skoda Kushaq and Slavia, the two models that formed the backbone of India 2.0 strategy, have played a vital role in helping the carmaker double its salesl last year. In fact, India, which is now the third-largest market for the carmaker, has overtaken China to become the biggest non-European market for the Czech brand. Earlier this month, Skoda Auto India announced its agenda of continuous product actions in 2023 along with the expansion of customer touch-points and dealership network. It even revealed its objective to achieve 1,00,000 unit sales by 2025. It may be noted that with sales of 53,721 units in 2022, Skoda Auto India has posted an YoY growth of 125%!

2022 Biggest Year for Škoda Auto India
Revealing the company intent, Petr Šolc, Brand Director, ŠKODA AUTO India, said, “We are extremely happy to cross the 50,000 sales landmark for the first time in India, with 53,721 cars sold in 2022.
