Mahindra Thar Crossing a Dam
The video has been uploaded by Prateek Singh on YouTube. He keeps coming up with such content to raise awareness among car owners regarding the importance of road safety and safety ratings in cars. This time around, he found a clip of a Thar moving on the edge of a dam dangerously. There doesn’t seem to be any reason for doing so. One must never trust the water, especially around dams as the flow could increase at any moment. There have been tons of such incidents in India already. Mahindra Thar comes with 2 engine options, a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel, and a 2-litre turbo-petrol. In the current-gen model, the oil burner makes 130 PS/320 Nm of peak figures while the petrol makes 150 PS/320 Nm of max figures. Transmission options for both the powertrains are a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with a low-range box. You also get a transfer case and a mechanically locking centre differential. The prices range from Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 16.29 lakh, ex-showroom.

The 5-door version of the Thar has been spotted testing multiple times and the launch might well be around the corner. It aims to remedy the practicality concerns a lot of people have with the existing 3-door Thar. At the moment, only 4 people can sit in the SUV and the boot space is almost non-existent.
