This US couple are popular vloggers on YouTube who purchased an auto-rickshaw. Now, for the Indians, an auto-rickshaw or tuk-tuk needs no introduction. There are autos running in all major areas of the country. Apart from the small mountainous terrains in the Himalayas, auto-rickshaws are found everywhere. They are the perfect modes of transport in the cities. They are compact and can enter into tiny alleys and walkways enhancing accessibility. We have seen foreigners appreciating it in India and realising its importance. However, buying one in the USA might be something that you would not have heard about.

US Couple / Vloggers Buys Auto-Rickshaw
The video has been created by Chris and Sara on YouTube. They have travelled to various parts of the world. However, after returning to the USA, they were browsing through the marketplace on Facebook. That is when they found out about the auto-rickshaw being on sale. They already knew what the tuk-tuks are and were always fascinated by them. They mention that fuel prices are rising day by day in the USA and they own a large diesel-guzzling van. Hence, they were looking for a practical option for their urban mobility requirements.

That is when they found that someone was selling a TVS King auto-rickshaw in the USA not too far away from where they live. The couple decided to buy it and use it for their daily commute around the city. In the later part of the video, the couple is seen struggling with learning how to drive it. First of all, they are not used to driving manual cars. Secondly, the manual gearshifts in the auto are a lot different than the stick shift in cars. They are seen trying to learn to ride it for a long time.

They even got it registered as a motorcycle and got the necessary documentation and certifications. These are 100% road legal. Having taken it for a ride on the roads, the couple was able to attain a maximum speed of 35 mph. It has a USB socket, radio, MP3 player, blinker, horn, wiper, bottle holders, removable top and a spare tyre. It comes with a 199-cc engine producing 7.8 kW and 15.5 Nm of peak power and torque.
