Jeep is all set to launch a new midsize SUV in India. It will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Grand Vitara.
Jeep has been a popular brand in the Indian market for decades. Now, the company’s SUVs are attracting a lot of car enthusiasts. Recently, the company launched the Meridian SUV in the Indian market. It is expected to follow up with a more affordable midsize SUV. The Jeep Avenger is expected to be the latest addition to the company’s SUV portfolio in India. Underpinned by CMP Architecture
The Jeep Avenger will be underpinned by the modular CMP platform (similar to the C3 in India). On the front, it sports a seven-slot grille with the brand’s signature and split DRLs on either end. The upcoming SUV also features body cladding, 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, and squared-off tail lamps with X-shaped LED lights. On the inside, it features a minimalist dashboard with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument console. Additional features include rectangular AC vents, multi-zone climate control, ambient lighting, adaptive cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, and more.
The new Jeep SUV will be powered by a 1.2L turbo petrol engine that offers a peak power output of 100 bhp. It comes with a manual gearbox. The company might introduce another model backed by a mild hybrid powertrain with Stellantis’s built 54 kWh battery pack. It is expected to output peak power of 156 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. The upcoming SUV will come with an FWD setup as standard. Additionally, both models will come with Jeep’s Selec Terrain off-road modes for improved performance. The company is also working on an all-electric version that will offer a real-life range of over 400 km on a single charge.

Jeep Avenger to Rival Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara in India
The Jeep Avenger is expected to be launched in Europe during the first half of 2023. As of now, there is no confirmation about the Indian price and launch date of the new Jeep Avenger SUV. Once launched, it is likely to take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, and the new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Currently, the company is planning to launch the new Grand Cherokee in the Indian market. It will compete with the likes of Mercedes GLE, Land Rover Discovery, and BMW X5.
