Toyota Etios series has gradually become the frontrunners in the Indian sales of Toyota cars with increasing sales volumes and popularity of these cars. Sometime back, Toyota started export of Etios and Liva to South Africa and now this global car is all set to hit Brazilian roads by September 2012, but the interesting fact here is that the Brazilian Etios and Etios Liva is a facelifted new model or lets say its new 2012 Toyota Etios And Etios Liva with many small cosmetic elements on the exteriors and interiors which have been improved over the initial model launched in India.
In this article, we compare the elements which have been upgraded in the 2012 Toyota Etios Series which will debut in Brazil in 2012 and is eventually expected to make it to Indian roads too by end of 2012 as Etios is an important volume product for Toyota.

Talking of the changes in the 2012 Toyota Etios Liva and 2012 Etios Etios Sedan, there are some very subtle changes first and foremost of which is the Etios Logo, if you look carefully, the branding of Etios in India is in a more traditional Indian way with the letter “i” in Etios Logo in red and tapering upwards while it has been made more stylish and the font has also been changes to make it appear more trendy and more suitable for the local markets. The side profile and the styling elements have not been tampered with.
The rear is where there is much more pronounced changes with the body panel of the boot door being modified compared to the Initial Indian model, it appears more sporty. The tail lamp cluster has also been revamped with more clear glass treatment and adding more sporty look to the rear of the Liva.
The spoiler and chrome strip remain as before on the rear which is the most sporty element of Liva.
The Etios sedan seem more like the Indian variant only with no pronounced changes on the front and the rear except that the side moldings seem to be removed and the logo and branding has been modified for Brazilian market.
On the Interiors some of the prominent changes include a different and sporty steering wheel, new audio system, adjustable head restrains at the front and rear compared to the integrated ones in the Indian model. The front seats also get height adjustment feature for a better driving posture.

The AC remains manual and the central consoled does look somewhat better with a more attractive looking audio system.
We hope that the facelift Etios series will make it to India soon. We may not see same changes as car makers tend to customize cars for local needs, so what we may se in India is changes in head and tail lamps, some improvements in the instrument consoles and upgraded audio system and some more feature enhancements to make Etios stand stronger against new rivals like the 2012 Swift Dzire and other entry level sedans and small cars. We will keep you posted on the updates on new Etios, stay tuned.
