Ford India has reached the next level in the Indian market after it launches is popular small car in India, the Ford Figo which was launched in March 2010. Since then there has been no looking back since the Figo provided great handling of Ford with spacious interiors and decent fuel economy with both petrol and diesel engine variants with trim levels designed to cater to the needs of a variety of customers. Ford Figo is also exported from India to many countries and is running successfully across multiple automobile markets. To take the success further and keep up with the new technology and competition, Ford India is planning to give Ford Figo a facelift soon. A test mule of new 2012 Ford Figo has been spotted testing on Indian roads.
What Is New In 2012 New Ford Figo?
The new model of the Ford Figo will be more of a minor facelift with refreshed headlamps and tail lamps design and minor tweaks on the exteriors. The body panels continue to remain the same, much like we have seen in the facelift of the Hyundai i20.
In terms of other changes which we expect to appear on the Ford Figo 2012 include some feature changes which maybe re-aligned based on the customer feedback. Ford India has also realigned the variant lineup of new Ford Fiesta inIndia to offer better value for money and improved value proposition with well adapted new trim levels. The same approach maybe used when introducing the new Ford Figo which is expected to improve the value for money factor even further for Figo which is already a very good value with the ongoing variant.
We also expect some tweaks to the engine, like retuning and other improvements to improve the performance and fuel economy of the engines further. Petrol prices have gone really up in the last two years which has hugely affected car buyer’s preferences when it comes to fuel economy and petrol-vs-diesel factor. Majority of the cars sold in India are now diesel cars which used to be other way round until a few years back, which will also make Ford India to retune the engines for better fuel economy and make the cars more lucrative for the buyers.
On the interiors also we expect some pleasing changes and improvements which will help improve the comfort and pleasing feel of the car even further and give it a fresh new looks as per the taste of buyers based on the customer feedback and experience of Ford designers.

The side profile is not much different from the older Figo, but an updates alloy wheel design does make it look more attractive.
