Mahindra and Mahindra has been overwhelmed with the demand for the Mahindra XUV500 right from the day of the launch. In first two rounds of bookings, Mahindra did find it very hard to deliver the orders promptly as the planned capacity of Mahindra XUV500 was about 2000 units per months as per the initial plans and demand forecast prior to launch, but the forecast came out to be incorrect in a good way as the demand for the XUV500 was much more than the initial planned capacity.
Mahindra XUV500 is has been launched only in 19 selected cities of India till the second round of bookings which attracted over 25,000 bookings and company has to draw lots to select 7200 customers out of them to deliver the XUV500 in second phase of bookings. Now comes a good news, for both M&M and interested buyers – Mahindra has doubled the capacity to 4000 units per month and Mahindra XUV500 will go on sale across India starting 8th June 2012.
