TVS has made a name for itself in the world of sport and extreme motorcycles. Models like RTR 180and RR 310 have been quite popular among bike enthusiasts. Now the company has launched the TVS Ronin. It comes in a price range of Rs 1.80 lakh )on-road). The new retro motorcycle rivals the Royal Enfield. The entry-level bike will compete with the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar 250, Honda CB350, Jawa, and Yezdi. Can it find success in the new challenge?

Design
While the TVS Ronin does not look old school like Royal Enfield, it retains the charm of old-world bikes. This is due to the styling choices on the bike. The company has fused retro elements with modern technology. On the front, you can see a round headlight with LED fixtures and a signature ‘T’ motif that gives it a distinct look. Additionally, it comes with Gold-finish upside-down front forks, a single-seat setup, LED tail lights, diamond-cut alloy wheels (first-in-segment), and more. The bike has a silhouette of an old bike.
Specs and Features
The TVS Ronin is powered by a new 225cc single-cylinder engine that offers 20.4 bhp of max power and 19.9 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. During our tests, the bike performed really well. In terms of braking, there were no issues. Despite hard braking at the speed of 90-100 kph, the bike never losses composure. Additional features include dual-channel ABS, disc brakes (300 mm on front and 240mm on back), a mono-shock, and adjustable levers (first-in-segment).

Overall, the TVS Ronin looks well-sorted in terms of features and design. While it has retro looks, the new bike is as modern as any other bike in this segment. The new bike is similarly priced as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 which is a completely old-school bike. If you are looking for old-world charm, you should go for the Hunter 350. However, if you also want modern features, the TVS Ronin is the correct choice. It comes with a digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, and an optional USB port. The SmartXonnect offers features like turn-by-turn navigation, race telemetry, low fuel warning, lean angle mode, crash alert, and call / SMS alerts.
