Kia Seltos is one of the most popular products in the mid-size SUV segment in our market and the facelifted version is just around the corner.
This video captures the 2023 Kia Seltos parked next to the current model. It gives us an opportunity to compare the design in flesh. Seltos and Creta had ruled the sales charts for a long time in our market but now the competition has arrived in the form of the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. There are other products like the Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun and MG Astor too. Therefore, to ensure that the Seltos fends off its rivals, Kia is planning to introduce the refreshed version soon. It has already arrived in the international market.

While the updates to the facelift model are subtle, they are evident when seen in comparison to the old model. The headlamps are redesigned with more aggressive LED DRLs, the fog lamps are more prominent, the Tiger Nose grille receives a slightly tweaked pattern with a chrome strip that runs halfway to the centre and has the LED light strip attached to it, the bumper is a bit redesigned. On the sides, the major difference is seen in the distinctly modern alloy wheel design and unique side body panels.

At the rear is where the distinction is truly established. The current-gen model had LED taillamps connected by a chrome slab. However, the facelift model has an entire glass panel connecting the two LED taillamps. The very design pattern of the lights is also different. Additionally, the reflector lights and reverse lights are positioned down on the bumper and not on the boot lid like on the current-gen model. Finally, the skid plate on the rear bumper is sturdy but the fake exhaust tips are absent that were there in the older version.

Interior and Specs
On the inside, most things and features remain identical to the old model save for a few changes. One of the most noticeable changes includes the rotary-type gear selector indicating the shift-by-wire technology. Moreover, the host of the video also shows the dedicated button on the driver’s side of the dashboard to open the boot electronically. This enhances comfort tremendously. It would be interesting to see which of these features make it to the India-bound model. The powertrain options might also continue unchanged.
