Toyota Kirloskar Motor India has posted an impressive increase in car sales in India in the month of April 2012 by selling 14,378 cars compared to 9681 in the same month in 2011. The sales growth is an impressive 49% for month of April 2012. The major driver from the increases sales has been once again the Toyota Etios and Toyota Etios Liva which sold 5624 units which is higher by 21% compared to past year’s April sales of 4657. The 2012 New Toyota Innova sold 6582 units which is a huge increase of about 90% in the sales of Innova MPV. The new 2012 Toyota Fortuner launched at the Auto Expo 2012 also increased the sales by 72% selling 1270 units. The Toyota Corolla Altis sold 881 units in April 2012.

Commenting on this encouraging sales numbers, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Marketing quoted:
“The Etios series, Innova, Fortuner continue to register growth in April. However, the market sentiments seem to be low with the enquiry levels gone down across the industry.”
