Update:
2012 TVS Apache RTR 160 and 180 Launched In India
TVS Motors India is creating a buzz with its teasers showing up on the official Facebook Page of TVS Apache as well as the TVS Apache official websites by showing a front view teaser of what is beloved to be a fully fared TVS Apache RTR. Apache RTR competes with some of the popular Motorcycles like the Bajaj Pulsar series, Yamaha FZ Series, Hero’s CBZ Extreme etc. with its 160 and 180 CC variants. TVS is also India’s first two wheeler maker to introduce a safety features like ABS on a bike to make biking a safer sport or hobby.
Recently revealed teaser of Fully Fared TVS Apache RTR shows that it is bringing up some seniors sportiness by taking RTR one step further with a fully fared body, making it more aero dynamic and sporty in looks. Fully Fared TVS Apache RTR is also expected to feature a more powerful engine however there is no official word about it. We expect a higher displacement engine because Indian buyers have strong affinity towards higher displacement bikes when it comes to the premium or sports bikes as they believe in “bigger the better” philosophy with the engines. This is one of the reasons why KTM introduced KTM Duke 200 in India instead of globally popular KTM Duke 125 because a lower displacement engine would lead to comparison of specs with commuter bikes. Coming back to the fully fared TVS Apache RTR, it may feature the same 180 CC Engine or a higher displacement engine with close to 20 BHP of peak power.

The captions on the official Teaser image say “New Beast. Same Bloodline.” which somehow indicates that it will be placed in the Apache RTR branding only as a new variant. It will also feature sporty features and agile performance which are the main characteristics of TVS Apache lineup. Twin multi-reflector headlamps with a wide gap in-between give a clear indication of a wide body faring which will make the bike look more attractive and have better aerodynamics at the same time.
