Citroen has 2 products in our market – C5 Aircross and C3. But these latest spy shots reveal that we might get a C3-based 7-seat MPV too.
In this latest video, a Citroen C3-based Maruti Ertiga rival is spotted testing. This model is heavily camouflaged, as is the case with all new cars. The French carmaker currently caters to the two extreme ends of our market at the moment – C5 Aircross for high-end customers and C3 for budget-friendly car buyers. If this spied version becomes a reality, Citroen will be able to enhance the accessibility of the brand by launching an MPV slotted to be positioned between the aforementioned SUVs.

Citroen C3-based Ertiga Rival Spotted
The video has been uploaded on YouTube by The Car Show. In the video clip, the MPV is seen coming out of the truck. The sheer size and body type of its product reflect its MPV-ish traits. It is parked alongside the C3 and Kia Seltos in the later part of the video. The design is clearly inspired by the C3, while the length is that of an MPV like the Ertiga. This leads us to believe that Citroen might be eyeing the segment above the C3.

As far as the looks go, the entire body is wrapped in a heavy camouflage. Nevertheless, it can be deduced that the front fascia features a split LED setup with LED DRLs on the bonnet and the main headlamp cluster on the bumper below. There is a large grille at the centre and the bumper is sporty. On the sides, this version comes equipped with steel wheels indicating that this could be the base model. At the rear, there is a defogger and wiper. All in all, this has all the characteristics of an MPV.

Specs
Since there has been no word from the French carmaker about this product, we can assume that it could come with the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that also powers the C3. It produces a healthy 110 hp and 190 Nm of peak power and torque. There could be a few tweaks to this engine to compensate for the added weight. In addition to that, we might also see the option of a manual or an automatic gearbox. The main highlight of this could be the affordable price point. It could well start at under Rs 10 lakh.
