The deliveries of the new Maruti Brezza have commenced a few weeks ago and it has already reclaimed its top spot on the sales chart for its segment.
This latest crash of the new Maruti Brezza indicates that it might well score a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. Brezza is the most popular compact SUV in the market as confirmed by the sales for the month of August. In its latest generation, Maruti has tweaked the exterior to make it look bolder and introduced some modern high-tech features to attract new customers. The outgoing model boasted a GNCAP rating of 4 stars. Let us see how well the current-gen model handles a crash, which is yet to be crash tested.

Maruti Brezza NCAP Rating
The incident has been reported from Himachal Pradesh on the YouTube of Prateek Singh. He keeps uploading such content in a bid to raise awareness among Indian car buyers regarding the importance of safety ratings. As per the information mentioned in the video, there were 4 persons travelling in the Brezza. Around 7 km away from Solan on the Shimla-Solan highway, the compact SUV was involved in a crash at around 50 km/h. Since the 4-lane highway is under construction, there was a lot of dirt and dust reducing the visibility severely.

The driver of the Brezza was unable to see the truck coming from ahead and ended up hitting it head-on. Thankfully, no one suffered any serious injury. The front fascia of the SUV including the bumper, radiator grille, headlamps, bonnet, etc sustained damage. But considering the fact that this was a head-on collision with a truck at around 50 km/h, it is impressive that even more damage was avoided. The impact couldn’t reach inside the cabin safeguarding the passengers.

This performance hints at a decent safety rating. We will have to wait a bit before the Brezza is officially tested by the GNCAP. We must urge our readers to follow traffic regulations and drive within the speed limit. In situations with low visibility, as in this case, you could even stop the car or turn on the lights and drive extremely slowly. Had the driver been slow, he would have been able to avoid the truck.
