This year we have already seen myriad new-gen or facelifted models of so many cars suggesting that the coming months will carry to same trend forward.
The off-roading enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the next generation Toyota Fortuner in India. Toyota has introduced a ton of special edition models of the popular SUV already. However, an out-and-out new-gen model of the regular Fortuner is still not unveiled. After Ford decided to quit manufacturing in India in September 2021, Endeavour left a huge vacuum in our market and the segment. That is the reason why Toyota introduced numerous versions of the Fortuner. However, it is time that we witness the next-gen model too.

On the sides, one can’t see any characteristic creases but the wheel arches are chunky and prominent, the alloy wheels are attractive and the A, B and C pillars are finished in black. A side body garnish on the door panels is also visible. The roof rails look functional which is essential in an SUV of this segment. People often use it for off-roading adventures. Having the option of tying your luggage on the roof while vacating space inside the cabin is great. All in all, this version of the Toyota Fortuner looks as authoritative as the previous ones and potential buyers can be rest assured that it will offer that road presence which they associate with large SUVs.

Specs
As far as the powertrain options go, Toyota might introduce some form of electrification to the existing engines of the Fortuner. In its current iteration, the Fortuner comes powered by a 2.7-litre petrol unit (164 bhp / 245 Nm) and a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine (201 bhp / 420 Nm). It is paired with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. With the automatic transmission, the torque produced is a massive 500 Nm with the diesel mill. There is plenty of off-roading equipment on offer to make it immensely capable in terrains without tarmac roads.
