With competition fast heating up, the Tata Harrier is likely to soon get a pretty comprehensive facelift in order to come back into limelight
Based on the H5X concept, the Tata Harrier left everyone amazed with a radical design back when it was launched in January 2019. Exactly a year later, the mid-size SUV received a minor facelift that brought in new alloy wheels and dual-tone color options. Now, though, it looks like the SUV is all set to receive a rather comprehensive mid-cycle facelift. While Tata Motors has been tight-lipped so far, there have been several renderings visualizing the updated version. The one we have here, for instance, imagines the updated SUV with a very radical look.

Tata Harrier Facelift
Expected to receive a re-done front- and rear-end, the Tata Harrier could receive many new soft parts. These would include a more aggressive bumper with a bigger upper grille. The rendering we have here visualizes the SUV with sleek LED headlamps that would remind you of the Born Electric SUV concept from Mahindra. In the side profile, the SUV would get new alloy wheels. At the rear, the lights could be replaced with more radical units. Another big update that could debut on the refreshed SUV would be a new Tata logo that would give the carmaker a more modern insignia.

Inside, the Tata Harrier facelift should receive an upholstery change along with additional features and, probably, a new infotainment screen. The updated touch-sensitive unit could get the carmaker’s updated IRA connectivity suite along with some other new features. Also, the ventilated seats feature could be made standard on the higher models. Yet another feature that is likely to be on offer is an air purifier. Finally, some other notable features that have a good chance to debut on the facelift are ADAS and a 360-degree camera.

Specs
Currently, the Tata Harrier comes with only one engine option, which is a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre diesel unit that outputs 170 PS and 350 Nm. The transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic. With petrol-powered cars coming back in fashion, the SUV will likely get a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine that should be made available in both manual and automatic transmission variants. That said, a 4WD option won’t be provided on either of the engine variants.
