While parking cars out in the open, car owners need to come up with innovative strategies to protect the vehicles from the natural elements.
A Maruti Baleno owner decided to put a polythene sheet to cover his premium hatchback’s air dam in a bid to keep the stray cats out. We know how rare it is to find an indoor garage to park your car in our country due to space constraints. An overwhelming majority of people park their vehicles in the open which leaves them vulnerable to weather conditions, rodents, or other stray animals including dogs and cats that are often seen resting on the roof or getting inside the engine areas from small gaps under the body.

Maruti Baleno with Polythene Sheet to Keep Cats Away
The images have been uploaded by a Baleno owner on the Owners’ Page of Facebook. He writes that in order to protect the car from the cats that are roaming around in the open, the need to close the small gaps in a car is evident. It is quite common for rodents or kittens to get inside the car from the opening under the car. In fact, there have been instances of rats eating away the exposed electrical wires of cars when parked for long periods of time. Therefore, this simple trick is not bad to save the components of your car from animals and insects.

Also, it saves the lives of these animals too because the driver would begin driving straightaway not knowing that there is some animal or insect in the engine bay or in some orifice underneath the car. Hence, the chances of these rodents or small cats losing their lives are quite high. They are discovered only after the stench of their carcass is spread in the car after a few days. That is unintentional but unavoidable. It makes sense to undertake such precautions to keep them away as much as possible.
