Set to launch on June 30, the 2022 Maruti Brezza will feature a 1.5-litre K-Series Dualjet Dual-VVT naturally-aspirated motor from the Ertiga and XL6.
The 2022 Maruti Brezza is about to make its appearance on Jun 30, 2022, but the chances of it getting the cost-effective CNG powertrains are slim at the moment. Brezza is one of the most prominent products in the compact SUV segment. Maruti is launching the second-gen version to tackle the growing competition from the likes of the recently facelifted Hyundai Venu and the hot-selling Tata Nexon. As per the leaked images, the new-gen Maruti Brezza will feature evolved styling that will make it looks fresher whilst maintaining its original identity.

New-Gen Maruti Brezza CNG
The Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon already offer diesel engines for people looking for low running costs, while Maruti doesn’t have a diesel mill ever since the advent of the BS6 norms. On top of that, the chances of the new Brezza getting a CNG option right from the onset are non-existent. At a later stage though, if Maruti feels that the sales of the Brezza are suffering due to the lack of a diesel engine option, it might introduce the CNG version. After all, we have seen Maruti bowing down to the demand of the customers in the case of offering a sunroof. Initially, the company was against it but took a U-turn because of the customer demand. Similarly, a S-CNG version might be introduced in case its B-SUV buyers seek low running cost.

Specs
The engine specifications of the 2022 Maruti Brezza have a high chance to be the same as those of the recently launched Ertiga and XL6. Both these have an updated 1.5-litre K-Series Dualjet Dual-VVT petrol engine with Smart Hybrid technology. This engine makes 103 hp and 137 Nm of peak power and torque. The transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The prices of the current Brezza range from Rs 7.84 lakh to Rs 11.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
