In a weird turn of events, a Mahindra Thar was seen engulfed in fire while driving on a highway. Now, the Thar is a safe and rugged SUV which is why its sales are through the roof. Mahindra Thar Catches Fire While Driving
The video has been uploaded on YouTube but there is not much information regarding the details of this case. The title of the video on YouTube mentions that the Thar was travelling from Delhi to Panipat. As per the visuals, the SUV is parked on the side of the road completely engulfed in flames. It looks like night time which is even more strange because one could expect such things to happen during the day with the harsh sun. But there might be other factors at play here, like a poorly done modification or addition of some accessory. Until we don’t know the exact cause of this incident, we can’t comment. But the video captures the SUV being completely damaged beyond repair.

The latest-gen Mahindra Thar comes with 2 engine options, a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel, and a 2-litre turbo-petrol. The oil-burner makes 130 PS/320 Nm of peak figures while the petrol makes 150 PS/320 Nm of max figures. Transmission options for both the powertrains are a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with a low range box. You also get a transfer case and a mechanically locking centre differential. As far as the off-roading trips go, you are covered on all fronts in a Mahindra Thar. The prices of the Thar range between Rs 13.53 lakh and Rs 16.03 lakh, ex-showroom. The only direct rival is the Force Gurkha which has also recently received a new-gen upgrade.
