The launch of the new Mahindra Scorpio N will mark the beginning of a new era with a comfortable, modern and urban version of the iconic utilitarian Scorpio in India. What is interesting is the fact that the new Scorpio N will be sold alongside the existing model which will be renamed Scorpio Classic. This gives Mahindra an opportunity to not lose the existing Scorpio fans who appreciate the rugged and utilitarian aspect of the SUV, while at the same time, incorporating new customers looking for a more comfortable side of the Scorpio.

Things To Know Before The Launch of Mahindra Scorpio N
As of now, the exterior design has been advertised enough. Still, to summarise, the Scorpio N will feature vertical slats finished in chrome at the front, will have a redesigned bonnet hood without the air ducts, C-shaped LED DRLs surrounding the fog lamps on the bumper, dual-LED lights integrated into the projector LED headlamp cluster, beefy skid plate, elegant alloy wheels, side step for enhanced ingress and egress, chrome belt under the window line that looks like the erstwhile XUV500, a vertically stacked LED taillamp setup with a sporty bumper at the rear.

Interior and Features
We had also reported a video where the interior cabin of the Scorpio N was visible. The dashboard will feature a dual-tone tan and black colour theme, with metallic inserts, a sporty steering wheel with controls, a premium Sony audio system, plenty of storage spaces, a large digital instrument display with the latest connectivity features, XUV500-inspired AC vents, an electric sunroof and much more. Expect the cabin of the new Scorpio to be quite premium.

Specs
The exact specs of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be revealed only at the time of the official debut but it looks like the new SUV will share its engines and transmissions with the Thar. The entry-level diesel engine variant will offer 130 PS with a 2WD format but the higher variants could offer 150 PS with an optional 4WD. The petrol variant will be sold with a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine that will produce 150 PS. In all likelihood, the petrol version will be available only in 2WD format. Transmission choices for both the engine variants will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic unit. We had also reported that the base petrol model of the 2022 Scorpio N could start from Rs 14.50 lakh, ex-showroom.
