Citroen is finally bringing a new compact SUV to the Indian market. Now, the upcoming car is said to be available for bookings unofficially.
Citroen is a unique brand in the Indian automobile market. With models like the C5 Aircross, it has tried to combine modern tech with passenger comfort. The French carmaker was expected to launch the Citroen C3 last year but the pandemic lead to several delays. Now, it is finally going to be available in the Indian market. While the company has not officially launched the new car, several reports claim that many Citroen dealerships have started accepting pre-bookings for the C3. Let’s take a closer look at Citroen C3!

The Citroen C3 is based on the brand’s CMP modular platform. It features a unique exterior design with blacked-out pillars/ roof rails and stylish allow wheels. The upcoming car seems to have high ground clearance (180mm). The front fenders, rear reflectors in the bumper, and tailgate feature chrome elements. Additional features include a dual-tone rear bumper, double-slat grille, split headlamps, rectangular tail lamps, faux skid plate, an upright tailgate, and a roof spoiler. Customers will be able to choose from at least two dual-tone color options.

The compact SUV is expected to come with features like a Digital Instrument Cluster, a free-floating 10.1-inch Touchscreen Infotainment Display, 3-Spoke Steering Wheel Layout, Automatic Climate Control, Uniquely Designed Air-Con Vents, Cruise Control, and mirrors with internal adjustment. Additionally, the cabin is expected to be high on practicality. The car will have a dual-tone look (with an orange pad) running across the width of the dashboard. The flat-bottom steering wheel seems to have been borrowed from the C4 Aircross.

The Citroen C3 is expected to be powered by a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine that offers 130 hp of peak power. For transmission, the company might add a 5-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The lifestyle car is likely to have a starting price of roughly Rs 8 lakh, with the top-spec trim going for upwards of Rs 12 lakh. It is expected to be officially launched next month. The compact car will be positioned under the C5 Aircross. It will take on the likes of Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, and the Renault Kiger.
