Elon Musk recently bought Twitter but Adar Poonawalla had better investment advice for the Tesla owner.
Adar Poonawalla suggested Elon Musk to investment in the manufacturing of Tesla cars in India. According to Adar Poonawalla, It would be the best investment Elon Musk will ever make. Now, we don’t know about the best investment, but considering where India is heading with the electric mobility revolution, it might not be a bad idea at all. In fact, Tesla was on the verge of starting its manufacturing facility in Karnataka last year. But he mentions that the lack of regulations around the foreign manufacturing of EVs in India is the reason for the delay.

Adar Poonawalla Gives Advice To Elon Musk
Adar Poonawalla is the CEO of Serum Institute which recently came in news for the Covid vaccine. He is a shrewd businessman and entrepreneur. On the other hand, Elon Musk recently bought the social media platform, Twitter for a whopping $44 billion. This is one of the biggest tech deals of our time. Musk has openly stated his concerns regarding the Indian government not establishing clear regulations regarding the foreign companies coming here and establishing their manufacturing units for electric vehicles. That is precisely the reason why Tesla was unable to commence operations in India in 2021.

The government of India, on the other hand, has openly invited Tesla to begin manufacturing in India. In fact, the Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari mentioned that India has the infrastructure in place with regard to vendors, technology, labour, and facilities with which Tesla could easily start producing its cars in India. However, if it manufactures in China and wishes to sell in India, that is not a very optimal proposition for the country. It would be interesting to see if Elon Musk eventually decides to give it a go and fixes the challenges with the government.

Tesla Model 3
There have been enough instances of the Tesla Model 3 being spotted on the Indian roads for testing. These are clear signs that Tesla wants to sell its products in India. After all, India is bound to be a great emerging market for electrified vehicles and many indigenous players like Tata Motors and Mahindra have already been preparing launches of their EVs in the country. Tesla wouldn’t want to miss that bus which is why the advice of Adar Poonawalla to Elon Musk suggesting to set up manufacturing in India might be worth considering seriously for the American electric carmaker.
